So much is still unknown about autism that we feel it is important to study as many views and angles relating to the disorder as possible. Some of these pages contain information that is controversial and unproven.

DISABILITIES SITES

  • Parent Pals Ameri-Corp Speech and Hearing has developed a gifted and special education website for parents called Parent Pals. We provide general information, weekly tips, games, links, and newsletters from therapists, teachers, and a psychiatrist for the following disabilities: ADD, autism, deaf and hard of hearing, emotionally disturbed, gifted, learning disability, mental retardation, homeschooling, orthopedically impaired, otherwise health impaired, severe and/or multiple disabilities, speech and language impairment, stuttering, traumatic brain injury and, visually impaired.

  • Association Information Recherche -- FranceAIR is an association, who is in parents, childs and professionnals service. AIR propose periods of probation and advice. In cross-road of formation and expert's consultation, AIR organizes a lot of conferences, and animate periods of probation in her crew's quarters at Besançon or directely in institutes. AIR is active in research with her European partner, in the Euforpoly's net.

  • The Sibling Support Project. The Sibling Support Project is a national program dedicated to the interests of brothers and sisters of people with special health and developmental needs. On our pages you will find items of interest for young brothers and sisters, adult brothers and sisters , and everyone!

  • Georgia Mental Health Net The Georgia Mental HealthNet is an Internet site supported by the Medical College of Georgia in order to provide information and services to consumers in Georgia, and to provide a forum for current developments in the mental health field for mental health professionals.

  • The Speech-Language Pathology Website is provided as an information service to anyone who is interested in learning about speech and language development and associated disorders.   • CASLPA is the single national body that supports the needs, interests, and development of speech-language pathologists and audiologists across Canada. CASLPA offers various membership categories as well as certification for its members. Membership is available to individuals who are graduates of Canadian university programs of audiology or speech-language pathology or graduates of non-Canadian programs judged to be equivalent. If you are currently a member of one of the provincial/territorial associations, your membership in CASLPA can be facilitated by a letter from the provincial board member of your province confirming your membership in good standing.

The HANDLE Institute provides an effective, drug-free alternative for diagnosing and treating postneurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan. HANDLE incorporates research and techniques from many disciplines. It includes principles and perspectives from medicine, rehabilitation, psychology, education and nutrition. It is founded on an interactive, developmental model of human functioning. The institute offers clinical services, community information, and professional training programs. The HANDLE Institute is a non-profit organization in Seattle, Washington.

  • Sensory Integration International

  • This document contains selected chapters from the Communication Analyzer User's Guide that may provide useful information to parents, educators, or speech-language pathologists who want to learn to analyze the early productive language development of children. The unique perspective of the Communication Analyzer is to bring together research in pragmatic (intention) and syntactic (structure) language analysis into a common framework.

  • <Auditory Integration Therapy at The Counseling Center. -- Auditory Integration Therapy is often applied with successful results in cases of individuals who have been given diagnoses of hyperlexia, autism, dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), pervasive developmental disorder (P.D.D.), Atypical Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, and Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD).

  • Auditory Integration Training As many as 20% of the population suffer from distortions in hearing or sensitivity to certain sounds which can contribute to inappropriate or antisocial behaviour, irritability, lethargy, impulsivity, restlessness and high tension levels.
